Books we are reading.

We borrowed some new, fun stories to read from the library! Here's a look at what we're reading together.

A Color of His Own by Leo Lionni. I imagine this is cute to read with a child who is just learning his/her colors. It's a pretty short book and is perfect for when Judah wants me to squeeze in one read-aloud before bedtime. Also, it's adorable to hear him try to pronounce "chameleon."

The Hueys in What's the Opposite? by Oliver Jeffers. We can't get enough Oliver Jeffers these days! This book was fun because it's just slightly more complex than your typical "up" vs. "down" comparisons. Also, the illustrations are too cute!

Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola. This is another favorite book by our favorite children's author! This book is a really fun read-aloud (for the reader and the listener!) We actually own a signed copy, and when my husband asked me why we bothered to borrow the book from library when we own it, I answered, "Because we can't touch ours!!!" Haha.

Gaston by Kelly DiPucchio. This is a sweet story woven together with a solid moral lesson about family and being different. It also has a fair amount of subtle humor, which makes it all the more enjoyable.

Our new homeschool curriculum comes with reading suggestions, so we'll start borrowing those from the library, too! I'm excited to be introduced to new books that work with what Judah will be learning in the coming weeks.
